Bariatric surgery is a documented solution for morbid obesity. Additionally to excess weight loss, significant improvement in comorbidities is an established benefit after bariatric operations. In recent years, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged as one of these comorbidities. Herein we will review the data supporting the positive effect of bariatric surgery in patients with NAFLD.
